Regina Office Building
It's not too often that other explorers drop by Regina and I happen to be in town as well. So it was
a real treat to have Reduxzero & Nancy Drew of drainsofmycity.com stop by
while on a 7 day trip exploring around Saskatchewan.
After meeting Redux and Nancy we hit a few locations around Regina. The next morning we had some fun at one of Saskatchewan's
more prominent former institutions. More about the institution on a future update.
One of the locations visited in Regina was a former Broad Street office building. This building had sat
vacant for several years and was under demolition when we explored it which surprised me as I
always thought the building was more modern than it really was. While exploring this building there was no shortage of
shady individuals lurking around us. Some taggers were hanging around the area when we arrived, as well as the regular
dose of addicts, prostitutes, and the homeless that frequent the area. There were several tense moments where we were sure
we had some company with us while moving around the building.
The building itself was primarily of wooden construction with some creaky wooden flooring that made it
difficult to move around quietly. There was a lot of traffic on the road that the building faced and with no windows we had
to be careful to remain unnoticed. Unfortunately the building itself wasn't very interesting. The floors were gutted and
had nothing remaining. The best parts being the basement boiler and utility rooms as well as
the rooftop of doom (watch your step :>). After making to the roof we took a few photos of the skyline, and feeling we
had seen everything there was to seen we left.
