Looking downstream on the North Saskatchewan River, it was a cold day.
Many of the non structural components of the bridge have rusted right through.
The chain link fence replaces the old rusted out handrails.
I assume the only wiring still there is for the street lights on the island. There are a series of high tension lines crossing the river not far from this bridge.
A little blury but the underside isn't looking too great either.
The closed portion of the former North Battleford Bridges.
The approach from the island.
And now the former Borden Bridge. I have heard stories of how dangerous this bridge used to be. Public pressure forced the goverment to replace this bridge in the early 1980's, which was twinned in the mid 1990's. Many accidents and deaths plagued this bridge when it was in use.
It would have been tight to pass a semi on this bridge.
Rusted out gaurd railing.
